Five new tracks recorded and now available as CD or download
31st January 2021 “On The Road Again” is the latest studio recording from blues rock band 3am. Title chosen in the spirit of hope that 2021 will see the Covid 19 Pandemic subside and our previous gregarious enjoyment of LIVE music will return! Three songs written by Tim Renton and Laura Long, followed by two classic rock covers. “On the Road Again” is pure up-beat, romantic country rock – with acoustic and pedal steel guitars and a touch of mandolin. Then comes “Reflections”

The closest you - or we - can get to a live gig!
2nd June 2020 During Lockdown, we've been trawling through our electronic archives, and found some surprising stuff! Mainly videos from live gigs - videos we deemed too raw/unprofessional/out-of-date to put here as relevant indicators of how 3am looks and sounds. If you have the time to look, check out our Youtube channel - go to Youtube and simply search for 3amBluesRock - and up we pop! Videos from way back in 2005 when 3am first formed - with the raw, Janis Joplin-like ton

Review of "Angel" by Blues in Britain
3rd November 2014 Great to get another professional review of our work! - and even better that it's not only another favourable one, but the reviewer (Norman Darwen) totally "got" the ethos of the songs! You can read the full review in the October issue - or here - www.3am.uk.com/3am-news/great-review-3ams-angel-road-ep-blues-in-britain/

Two amazing gigs coming up in October!
24th September 2014 3am are delightedly gob-smacked to have been asked to be the support band for incredible guitarist Reeves Gabrels for two gigs on his upcoming UK Tour! He's coming over from the States at the end of September to tour with his power trio "Reeves Gabrels and His Imaginary Fr13nds". If you know the name, but can't quite place him - he's currently lead guitarist with The Cure, collaborates as song-writer and guitarist with David Bowie - and is one of the most

Clapham Grand was a blast! Next up is Richmond Festival
31st July 2014 We had an amazing time at Clapham Grand! - those of you who were there already know that - (and thanks for coming!) Well over one thousand people in front of the stage when we played - and although 99% of them had never heard ANY of our songs before, they bopped their way through them and gave us some very welcome applause - thank you, Clapham!!! What a night!!! Life being the way it is, the very next day we heard that FAB Festivals - the promoters for the big

Restless, reckless - four new songs on one pretty EP
14th July 2014 Three of the songs - "Hideaway Blues", "Wind Callin' My Name" and "Angel of the Road" are all inspired by that all-familiar "get away from it all" feeling. The fourth - "You Got Me Down" - is better known to our regular gig-goers as "Travesty" - the dark, heavy-on-the-wah-wah-pedal explosion you'd expect if you crossed our Laura! This is the first time the band have recorded a song with Tim taking the main vocals - "Angel" is his baby - based on dim recollectio

New Year's Resolution
3rd January 2014 That's the title of our latest single - currently only available to listen to here on Lemonrock - but soon to be played on a radio near you! :) It's a sad, sad song, delicately nuanced by our Laura - but nicely balanced by some stonking keys and guitars from the boys. Have a listen, and let us know what you think? - oh and make sure you all have a very HAPPY New Year!!!!

New drummer for 3am
19th September 2013 Tim's brother Andy, drummer and co-founder of 3am, decided this summer was the right time for him to leave the band. It's another massive upheaval for 3am, but bands involve people, so change is inevitable. This blog is a good place to say thank you to Andy, for all his hard work and commitment over the years, and to introduce new drummer, Jamie Fisher. His pedigree includes working with original artists Sphere, Santo El Diablo, Melbourne, Pick Up Sticks a

We're in! - New Brunswick Battle of the Blues 2013!
17th December 2012 Very pleased to say we've made it through the selection process and been accepted to take part in the NBBOTB 2013! We'll be joining five other top blues bands to compete for a place in the London Final later this year - winning band gets to play at the Harvest Jazz n Blues Festival in New Brunswick, Canada!! Wish us luck? - better still, come on down to Hove in January and enjoy the gig?

Gig at the Islington Academy!
23rd October 2012 Very exciting news! - especially for our London-based fans - on Thursday 13th December we're playing at the Islington Academy! Doors open at 7pm so you can pretty much come straight from work (via the pub, of course, as it's Thursday night). We're supporting this amazing band - Charlie Lankester & The Mojo Killers - see/hear at http://charlielankester.co.uk/ - latest review from Jamie Hailstone of Blues Magazine says "swampy grooves reminiscent of Tom Waits

Fingers crossed!
11th October 2012 As of 11th Oct 2012 we've submitted our details to the organisers of the New Brunswick Battle of the Blues and are hoping they'll choose us for one of the heats. (and, of course, that we will eventually win the whole thing and be whisked off to New Brunswick to perform at the Harvest Jazz n Blues Festival 2013). Getting publicity for the event seems to be the name of the game so far, so if you like us enough to want to help us get INTO the competition(!) ple

9 out of 10 from Nik Rodewald of BluesRockReview!
27th April 2012 3AM: Long Time Coming Review With their fourth release (and first with new vocalist Laura Long) - Long Time Coming - British blues rock group 3AM is sure to impress crowds both in the States and Europe. Marked by driving rock tunes, soulful ballads and a handful of well-executed covers, the album is impressively diverse, but still showcases this group's unique sound, which seems to have influences ranging from classic rock, R&B and even a touch of musical the

New album now on sale! "Long Time Coming" - true!!
21st February 2012 21 Feb 2012 New album now on sale! "Long Time Coming" - true!! We've been working towards this one since Laura Long joined as our new vocalist, way back in March 2011. Another nine-month epic...From her roots in the London jazz circuit, Laura set herself a very fast learning curve to meld into this crazy blues rock band that is currently allowing her to "have the time of her life!" With new songs from Tim, Andy and Laura, this album has a lot to offer. Stan

Here's another musical treat for you - just uploaded!
14th October 2012 Developed from a song written by Tim back in the 70's when he was in "Reign". This is classic, driving rock complete with guitar solos, hammond organ, crashing drums all overlaid with powerful female vocals - enjoy!
New song uploaded - from CD available Aug 2010
27th July 2010 Full eight months' gestation period on this one - we went thru some changes to produce this baby!! All the songs are on the set list for BB's Blues on 1st August and Charlotte Street Blues on 12th - closest we're gonna get to a "showcase" :)

23rd June 2023 - gig at Goose, Fulham, cancelled!
21st June 2023 21 Jun 202 It would have been a great mix of fabulous covers and equally brilliant, danceable originals with the band fronted by new vocalist Claire Bender to keep you entertained in Fulham tonight! As it happens, I rang the pub today to double-check parking arrangements - only to be told by bar staff that "VENUES POSSIBLE" through whom we were booked - had "cancelled 3am two weeks ago and booked a tribute band instead" - and that "Joe had contacted 3am and let

Yet another line-up change!
23rd August 2023 So sad! After more than ten years as 3am's backbone, Mr Phil Evans has reluctantly decided it's really no longer viable to commute around 100 mile round trips to gigs and rehearsals. We'll miss his wonderful bass sounds - these will be big boots to be filled! In the meantime, while we find and rehearse a new bassist 3am will be going out as a trio - Tim, Claire and Chris - some very interesting gigs coming up for autumn 2023!
